Kitchen cabinets

After all the old stuff is removed from the kitchen, rough-in work begins. Framing, plumbing, and electrical changes are done at this time. The work is inspected when it is complete. Then the walls are finished, and doors and windows are installed. When the trim work is done, the wall cabinets are hung and the base cabinets are installed.

Countertops

After the kitchen cabinets are installed, the countertops are put in place. The sink and faucet are also installed during this phase of the renovation. The cooktop or range should be in place so the installers can check for the proper fit. The dishwasher should also be in the kitchen since a mounting bracket may need to be installed.

Kitchen flooring

After the countertops, sink, and appliances are installed, the new light fixtures are hung. Then the flooring is installed. This is the last step in the kitchen remodel. Some flooring materials, like luxury vinyl, laminate, and prefinished or engineered hardwood, can be placed on the floor in one day while stone and ceramic tile take multiple days to install.
