A kitchen renovation is a time-consuming project that may take weeks to complete. The temporary inconvenience is well worth it since you'll enjoy greater functionality and more amenities in your new kitchen. Of course, it will be more visually appealing too. David Waller Interiors specializes in remodeling for the entire house and home decor. We make kitchen remodeling easy. You can find countertops, kitchen cabinets, window treatments, kitchen flooring, and much more in our Port Orange, Florida, showroom.

The Right Order

Kitchen availability during the remodeling process ranges from the ‘don’t enter’ phase to the ‘resume daily routines while cosmetic details are completed’ phase. Numerous jobs need to be completed during the renovation. The jobs take place in a specific order for maximum efficiency.

●   Demolition process - old stuff is removed and thrown away. Be sure to let workers know if you want to salvage any items.

●      Rough-in work - electrical, plumbing, mechanical, gas, and framing. A rough-in inspection takes place before work progresses.

●      Hang and prime drywall.

●      Install, in this order, windows and doors; cabinets; countertops, sink and faucet; appliances; light fixtures; and lastly, flooring.

The Renovation

Regardless of how careful contractors work, dust settles throughout the home when a kitchen is remodeled. Before work begins, items can be covered or put in storage to keep extra work to a minimum. Don't forget about pets. If water and food bowls are usually kept in the kitchen, they should be moved to another location at least a week before workers arrive. As for kitchen availability, the easiest option may be to order takeout or eat in a restaurant until work is complete. It may even be best to spend time away from home.
